My story shortlisted at Indireads 2nd Short Story Contest

Dr Roshan Radhakrishnan

I am taking part in the Indireads Second Short Story contest being held presently.
If you recall, I had participated last year as well under the 'Crime' category and eventually won that year. In fact, that year both my entries were under the category of 'Crime' and both were shortlisted and eventually published in Indireads first anthology "The Long and Short of It."

As always, I have tried not to stay within a fixed genre while writing and so this time, decided to try my hand at drama for a change. Focusing intensely on a moment in time between two young sisters and a lesson learned, the story is one I am personally quite pleased with because of the co-relation between two very different dance arts and real life scenarios I could infuse into the story.

Before the judges determine the best entry, they do ask the public to read and vote for the best 3 entries within each category (Crime, Drama, Paranormal & Romance).
So for this, I would humbly request assistance from your side.

My entry in the contest is The Ballet Lesson.
Please do read the story and if you like it, click the "heart" button situated at the end of the story.

If you did not like the story, click the "heart" button situated at the story. (See, I'm all about giving choices.)

Thanks everyone.

  5. Great story. I liked it and voted accordingly! :) Love how you used the setting of them dancing as the backdrop for the sisters' conversation. Very effective and symbolic.
