Author's note:
This is my take on The Moving Quill's "From 15 to 50" prompt where we have to write a flash fiction between 15 - 50 words, based any one of the 3 prompts provided ( check them out here).
For the record, the picture contains 42 words. More poignantly for me, it is a picture of my first batch of medical students having fun at the beach. I think everyone deserves to have that one memorable picture of them holding hands with their friends and facing the ocean waves, don't you? They have since gone on to become anaesthesiologists themselves and are presently working in various parts of the world.
Such beautiful words. And that picture is amazing. I need one like that with my friends right about now!
ReplyDeleteThanks Nisha... I wish I had taken one a decade ago when there was less flab and thus less exertion required against gravity while jumping up in the air for such pics!
DeleteWonderful picture... words and thought...
ReplyDeleteThanks Locomente...
DeleteIf I had a dollar for every beach picture I have. Except in my beach pictures, instead of holding my hands my friends are just trying to dunk me in the see or fill me up with mud :D :D
ReplyDeleteJokes aside, those words are really beautiful Roshan :)
ah yes.. true friendship... where they are trying to kill you!
DeleteAnd thanks.. played around with a lot of words for a quote befitting this pic... finally decided to go with one which suited the present state of the people in the picture itself.
Lovely! The picture and the words speak volumes. We do let go, yet we remain always close at heart :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Cloud Nine.. yes, those who matter will remain in our memories. Still, having a pic of them racing into the waves is pretty memorable too :)
Deletebeautiful words and pic :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Pixie :) Glad you like it...
DeleteYes you just made me feel so bad I dont have a pic like that..I added this to my list of things to do during upcoming vacation!
ReplyDeletehehe... i am going to hold you to this one, Anita. I wanna see that pic on Facebook after your next vacation!
DeleteLovely words and the pic is Wow!
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot.. glad you liked it.
DeleteBeautiful picture and even more beautiful words :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked it... it was a fun memory for them. I'm sure they would have wanted it immortalised in some words, though I know some among them who would have done a better job at poetry than me :)
DeleteWell, well, well, dear doctor :) All that drama about too few words ;) And you produce a gem like this one. Take a bow, or were you expecting me to say that? ;) The last line is the clincher, Roshan and the picture goes perfectly with it :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up :)
Shailaja
haha... I didn't have a clue what to write when I saw the prompt on day 1... this pic kind of came at the right time, I guess.
DeleteI'm saving that. Very poetic and meaningful words. :)
ReplyDeleteHaha... the whole idea of writing words on the picture itself was based on the students discussion that everyone had friendship day pics of people jumping in the beach and they too had pics like that of themselves so how was it they were not famous too :)
DeleteYou saving it would be the culmination of that discussion...
I love it and what a great picture! ♥
ReplyDeleteThank you Kathy... glad you liked it :)
DeleteLovely post doc. Guess the picture is the perfect example of the saying - "A picture speaks a 1000 words" :).
ReplyDeleteexactly.. especially when the prompt allows for only 50 words! :)
DeleteAww...I don't have a pic like that holding hands with my friends. But got to get one clicked soon!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful memory?! Loved the words that go with it :)
Thank you Vinodini... I too don't think I have a pic like this of myself, when I think of it... And now I would be mistaken for a whale if I went near the beach, I imagine!
DeleteAwesome Roshan! i thought it's a pic with a wonderful quote that u have added to the post and was searching for the post... i took sometime to realise that itself was the post :) Truly awesome... Sure to see Winner's Image on your blog page :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Saniya :) You know me well... wanted to do something different :)
DeleteInnovative attempt! Like Karanth (above), even I was looking for the post & then realized :)
ReplyDeletethanks Anita :) glad you liked it...
