It's nice to see some real acting after such a long time. Sarika and Naseerudin Shah are outstanding in amazingly tough roles.
Because it's time to take a break from the escapism of Bollywood.
Because this film doesn't need a Khan or Yash Raj banner to carry it.
Because it is a true story.
Because it takes more courage than you and I have to make this film and then present it in the 'most saffron' nation in the world.
Because every religion, with no exception, has something to be ashamed of. What happened in 2002 in Gujarat is ours. It is called a natural reaction. That's because the leaders couldn't pronounce the real English word... it's called Genocide.
The heartbreaking scene where a Christian American cries over what happened to the ones he cared about while fellow Indians have turned a deaf ear.
Because this film has half the reels and twice the heart of it's competitor, Salaam- e- ishq.
Because this is a small step to saying the words our Gods probably wish we would say - Sorry.
Because we are at the edge today - saffron, white and green stand together on the flag alone. This is our past. But nothing ensures it will not happen again in our future. And that is our biggest disgrace. That we cannot promise the ones who were hurt that we will be able to stand up to defend them if a next time comes.
