Before I can even begin to crib peacefully, Blogspot returns back to
India in all its glory. If only this kind of haste was shown in
response to all government goof-ups, we'd be in a better world today.
Instead on the news and we hear of Israel bombing Lebanon, Asia
building their military arsenal ( my missile bigger than yours!!
sheesh! Grow up already! ), news that Deepak Tijori actually had to
TURN DOWN an offer to make a sequel to the masterpiece Tom, Dick &
Harry. It's a weird world. Ladies now use the rape laws at their
convenience, apparently, taking revenge on lovers and even Dads who
annoyed them. Today's Mangalore paper gives another case of vitriolage
( pouring acid in the girl's face ) though she turned at the last
moment and her arms bore the scars.. her crime : to dump the guy after
finding out he was ALREADY married. Yet he felt justified enough to ruin her life. Did he not realise his crime ? How
do you justify your means when you know you're the wrong one to such an
extent that you start saying - "i was wronged. Revenge will be mine."
Speaking of justification, Came across a Psychiatry Pg recently. Seeing
him and remembering others before him seems to confirm the old
suspicions we had as students.."you have to be nuts to take up
psych..cos you WILL BE nuts by the time you're done" There's just
something loosened up there between the ears I guess..one too many nuts
to treat and they start turning into fruitcakes themselves. But it was
entertaining : to see a guy rationalise everything that was
happening..a "missed call" ( cheap fellow..expects me to call ), an sms
sent ( "he could have called" ), when there was " no call" ( shows his
standard- he ought to have called ).Having a loud ringtone ( showing off to make up for his insecurity ) or having a low ringtone ( he is unintrusive - prefers to work in the
shadows: a loner ) , girls being friendly ( they want me!!!) to girls
being aloof ( delusions of grandeur - think they're too good for me
)..I always thought Psychiatry was an amazing field because you heal the
worst illnesses..the mind. You sit back, listen to people crib..or not crib and then diagnose whats wrong with them.Same as a good friend would do but more rewarding. But I'm starting to see where the risk lies. Unlike other diseases here you leave yourself open to the disease
itself. You see ghosts where there aren't any..diseases and symptoms
where there aren't any.
All of us suffer from some psychiatric disorder. We just don't realise
it. It needs events to shift in our lives for it to manifest. I can't
say this guy was normal before he took the Pg, but he wasn't so cuckoo
either.Sometimes, it's better to let the caged beast stay in, without giving
it a name. Pray it remains dormant. Because to name the beast could be
enough to unleash it ..to make the man confront his reality or show him
that he has it in him to be something else..something evil..that's not
a smart move. I've seen tigers sucking on a monks thumb ( a habit she
started as a cub in a monks sanctuary ),seen them play with deers, wild
boars and cows ( how willing the latter 3 were is debatable, no doubt
because he was playing "catching cook" ) but thats not the point. The
monks were not fools. They knew not to expose the beast ever to blood.
Thumb sucking could easily degenerate into "finger licking good". But
if you can take a wild beast and domesticate it so much, why the
trouble to domesticate le evolutionaire king - Man? Sure we can control the diseases raging within your bodies - juicing you up with antibiotics, whole blood, blood components and prostheses - because people will arrive at a doctor's door when they feel the pain of the disease..But how many would actually choose to seek comfort in a doctor's shoulders for the pain that lies in the mind ? How many would actually say " damn! maybe I need to see a psychiatrist" and follow up on that ? How many would acknowledge - "yes, I need help."
Have no doubt -Sure the liver, lungs and kidneys' gonna fail you eventually but there is no greater organ of morbidity than the mind and no disease as draining as a mind in torment. The other organs just respond to the pressures set up by the brain...It's Medusa head all over - cure one problem at the periphery, 2 more appear. What a catch - The evolved brain? A double edged sword, wasn't it, Mr God ? Bet you're laughing now. Damn those lucky brainless starfish!!
nice read...
ReplyDeletewith so much stress around..man has stopped thinking straight...he has become more insecure nd pessimistic...thts the reason for this common psychiatric disorder!

it need to be more dark to match the color...
ReplyDelete@Trinityteal
ReplyDeleteread your article..I'm not denying there are pure a******S out there and rape definitely tops any list of heinous crimes.I still advocate "kill the rapists" because there's anyway no shortage of population But "faking" a rape charge to extract revenge ..that too on a father/ex whom you hate ? Think of the trauma a guy who hasn't done it faces on being accused. The father in case was convicted and then years later she admitted her mom put her up to it. it was disgusting to read.
@mogamboo
I did consider dark colors first..but then the headache of having to change the font of every post I've ever written comes.
