Godyears.blogspot.com is now www.Godyears.net

So the blog was down for a whole week due to 'technical difficulties' but is finally up and running again. It came out of surgery and is presently recuperating well as you can see.

Anyway, coming back to the headlines :

Godyears.blogspot.com is now www.godyears.net.
For those of you who couldn't be bothered to type in the changed address, it's okay . The blog will automatically redirect you to the new address. A logical question to ask is why didn't I go for godyears.com.

You remember, I constantly tell you how I have the most screwed up luck in the universe ? Well, this is a prime example of that. I did infact go over to buy the godyears.com domain. Now, as many of you know, these sites are available at quite a reasonable rate with mild variations here and there ( Rs 500-1000 /year ). So I type in my preference of godyears.com. And I get my quote for the domain. I shall share the screen capture with you below.

Talk about choosing the wrong title for a blog 7 years ago !! The thought of selling a patient's kidney did come to mind, but then I decided to take the moral high ground and just choose another domain suffix. So, godyears.net it is. On the bright side, it's a good thing I didn't start a similarly themed cookery site... Godfood.com was selling for Rs 2.5 lakhs.

For now, I'd like to redirect you to two different sites.

  •  Few may remember the fun blog-lynch I received a couple of years ago, but as always, I am a glutton for punishment. So I asked Freeblogreview.org to review me. They've been very kind in their review. Here is the link
  • I recently wrote an article for the political movement, Nav-Bharat. And before you ask, no, I don't have any plans of becoming a politician yet ( There aren't enough sexy babes in nurses outfits in politics dancing to Apache Indian's Boom Shak-a-Lak ). My post was just a different way of looking at what's going on today without trying to be too negative about it. I would appreciate your opinions ( here - they don't have a comments section at their main site ). The article is titled Glad to be living in a country of my dreams

  3. I loved it.... totally! I am glad that they didn't give you ".com"; else we would not have had a chance to read this piece! :p :p

About the Nav-Bharat article - awesome; teaches Indians to be optimistic and reminds them of their duties and responsibilities towards the nation.

  4. Hi Doc,

Read the article now and had to come her to comment... amazing one..!!! you write so well....and I wish, whatever you said there comes true, if not for our generation, the next one definitely deserves all that you have said...

And now on a more serious note, about the blog lynch, do you want to tell me what you bribed them with to write such good stuff about your blog?? c'mon you know you can trust me with that, right ?? :p...

    1. Thanks Vidya.. true, our generation most likely wont get to eat the fruits of this tree, but atleast we can start the process.. thats my personal wish. But lets see.

As for the bribe, hmmphh ! I am not that type. Sure, they are still receiving monthly home deliveries of one kilo mackeral/kingfish and coconuts from Kerala, but there's no proof tying me to that courier !

  5. I like your blog's new look. I do not understand the concept of selling URLs at such exorbitant prices. Now imagine what would have you done if .net was not available?
I really liked your article. I wish it comes true although you are giving it a really short notice. :)

    1. If .net was around the same, my backup would have been .in - beyond that, Im not sure if I would have tried.
And thanks - ur rt. watching these silly politicians play with our lives presently, its hard to see that vision of mine come true anytime in the next generation, isn't it ? Someone really has to take a stand...

    1. haha.. the general opinion seems to be that 30 years is too less a number. Lets all meet up 30 years from now and hope this is prophetic :)

  8. COngrats buddy!
India changing over 30 years??! THat's difficult to say in a good sense and a bad sense...
Good sense, maybe some politicians are going to come and change everything around just like that or
bad sense, nothing's going to change, speaking of which the Mangalore roads to Kasargod were supposed to be concreted and 4 laned by next year; the speed by which they are doing, doesn't seem anything less than another 5 years!

    1. 30 years being too less seems to be the general concept..sigh. that is sad to hear :s

and I'm surprised about the slowdown. I remember travelling early in the morning for cases and being amazed seeing the dedication when they were working at 4am for the Netravati bridge expansion. Sigh... too good to be true, huh ?

  10. Good that you've moved to your own domain. GoDaddy makes it easy to do so on Blogger. In time you should seriously consider moving to Wordpress self-hosted. I did in Feb this year and love it.
Congratulations on the review. I'm marching off there to ask them to do one for me!
